Rocdoc

This project is about creating a mobile app that would help RIT students find local medical assistance.

Problem and goal

September - November 2016

Non local and international RIT students are unaware of the available medical facilities and health specialists within the Rochester area. There were no resources at the time, that could help inform the students on how or where to browse for medical specialists.

With classes and homework, RIT students find it challenging to book medical appointments during office hours. Other issues are, being unsure about the students’ health plan coverage, and not knowing which reviews to trust.

Apart from the given task to “design a mobile app for RIT students”, we were open to determine other goal targets that would surface from user research.

  • Direction and transportation info

  • Approximate cost estimate

  • Access to physician/practice contact information

  • 24/7 online appointment booking and cancelling.

  • Provide searching capabilities via health insurance coverage.

  • Ensure the app has an easy and fast browsing feature for medical specialists within the Rochester area
